Commission on civil servants’ new salary scheme to start work in April

GEORGE TOWN: The commission that will work on structuring a new salary scheme for civil servants is expected to commence its work by next month, at the latest.
Cuepacs president Datuk Omar Osman said the commission will start work as soon as the Federal Government decided on the composition of its board members.
“The new scheme is expected to address (what) is lacking in the current SSM scheme as well as the cancelled SBPA scheme” said Omar at a press conference in Universiti Sains Malaysia here Monday.
On March 8, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced the cancellation of the Public Service New Remuneration Scheme (SBPA) and retention of the Malaysia Remuneration System (SSM) with improvements.
